NYC. The Unites States of America. A break-in has taken place last night at a popular home improvement store on 40W 23rd Street in the Flatiron District of Manhattan.
The police arrived shortly after a neighbor reported strange noises coming from the area. “We arrived at the scene around 2:24am and were simply flabbergasted by what we had found. Nothing was missing at all, except for the entire Money Tree section. They wiped it out completely. I mean, I’ve been with the NYPD for over 20 years and my wife is crazy about these cute little luck-bringers, but I tell you, this is the first time I witness something like this.”, Dave Copperson, one of the first law enforcement agents to arrive at the scene stated for our reporter.
As incredible as it may seem, there were no money or other valuable items missing from the store, except for the tropical victims. The police are investigating the curious incident and believe the atypical MO might be related to the ancient wisdom according to which giving a man some money will feed him for a day; getting him some Money Trees will feed him for a lifetime.
The police put out an APB on the creative robbers and expect to identify them soon. “Our priority right now is to bring them in for questioning, see if we can convince them to share the secrets of their skill. You never know when it will come in handy in this economy. And besides, it’s nice to handle an easy case, since we’ve already completed our racially motivated police violence quota for this week.”, Officer Copperson proudly stated.
